Message from the Editorial Committee

Following a period of organizational and leadership transition, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our 2026 conference at the Strong National Museum of Play until 2027. While we’re disappointed not to gather with our community this fall, this step reflects our commitment to the quality and integrity of both the conference and the board game academics journal. Our mission is to advance the academic study of tabletop games by fostering collaboration among researchers and practitioners, and over the coming year, we will continue supporting our authors through editorial and peer review while preparing an exceptional conference experience. Although we’re saddened by this postponement, we’re also energized by what’s ahead. We look forward to welcoming you in 2027 to share innovative research, strengthen professional connections, and spark new collaborations. Thank you for your patience and your continued support.
